Late Opening – Saturday 16th May 2026

The Talyllyn Railway is celebrating 75 years of being the world’s first preserved railway this weekend.

As part of the 75th Anniversary Gala (May 15th-17th), the railway will be running special trains throughout the night on Saturday, May 16th, continuing into Sunday morning.

The Railway Inn is the pub at the end of the line, so it’s only fitting that we stay open late to provide beverage refreshments for thirsty travellers!

The train runs from Wharf Station in Tywyn to Nant Gwernol, but best hop off at Abergynolwyn Station if you want to visit us. The Railway Inn is just a short stroll down the hill from the station where a log fire, great ales and a warm welcome awaits you!

We can’t guarantee an all-nighter, but we’ll be open until at least midnight and beyond if there are enough customers to warrant it.
